Smart-Girl: Founded in 1999 by four dynamic women, Smart-Girl is a nonprofit organization specializing in empowering adolescents. With over a decade of experience, Smart-Girl has trained more than 700 peer mentors and Guides, and has worked with over 3,900 girls. Our Smart Girl Leadership Institute (SGLI), along with a successful research-based and tested program, emphasizes social and emotional intelligence using a near-peer model. As a result, adolescents become confident, capable and self-reliant and are able to make smart choices throughout life.
Delta Sigma Theta: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea.
